Contract award of a sea water desalination plant in Qatar

In December 2006, Entropie has been awarded a contract by Qatar Shell GTL Limited for the supply of one desalination unit with a capacity of 7200 m3/d. The final destination of the unit is Ras Laffan in Qatar, where Royal Dutch Shell plc and Qatar Petroleum are jointly developing the Pearl Gas to Liquids (GTL) Project.

Entropie's scope for the project consists of the engineering, procurement and fabrication of one Multiple Effect Distillation (MED) desalination plant fitted with a thermal vapour compressor and six evaporation cells. The unit shall be skid mounted at workshop and shipped in modules to reduce site works.

Upon completion, the Pearl GTL project will be the largest integrated GTL complex in the world. Entropie, a subsidiary of Sidem and part of Veolia, is pleased to participate in such an important undertaking and confident to match the project's high expectations in terms of quality, performance and safety.
