PROCESS APPLICATIONS

Falling film evaporators are well adapted to such applications. They operate with low heating temperature difference and large heat exchange surface. When solutions are thermo-sensitive or where residence time should be as short as possible, multi-pass vertical falling film evaporators with long tube lengths are used. Wetting rates are increased and adapted to the dry solids concentration in each pass. Our special integrated vapour separator limits required space and has an improved efficiency on foaming solutions.

EFFLUENT APPLICATIONS

Falling film evaporators, forced circulation and horizontal wetted tube evaporators can be used for effluent concentration with the following advantages :

  • The resulting high quality condensate provides large water quantities for reuse in the process or other applications such as cleaning purposes.
  • The pollution is concentrated in very low volumes and thus the cost of disposal is considerably reduced.
  • "Zero reject" systems can be provided in combination with crystallizers and dryers.

VERY LOW TEMPERATURE APPLICATIONS

Some products are so thermo-sensitive that very low temperatures must be used. Our vacuum systems can allow evaporation temperatures as low as 12°C. These evaporators offer a competitive alternative to membrane processes and are used in the pharmaceutical industry as well as for food products.
