RANGE OF EVAPORATORS

Enhancing performance by reducing energy requirements. In evaporation, energy reduction goes through reuse of produced vapour. ENTROPIE develops and uses all possible systems and their combination to obtain the best compromise.

MECHANICAL VAPOUR COMPRESSION (MVC)

The vapor produced within an evaporator fitted with MVC is re-compressed by a mechanical compressor and reintroduced upstream to provide the heat required for evaporation.

Compressors types are selected with reference to the product properties and the evaporation rate.

  • High speed fans, designed for high evaporation capacities, low compression ratios and low concentration applications. Typical energy consumption are: 10 to 20 kWh per ton of water evaporated.
  • Multistage fan technology for medium evaporation capacities and higher compression ratio.
  • Volumetric compressors (Roots type), high compression ratios allowing high concentration levels. Typical energy consumption are: 30 to 60 kWh per ton of water evaporated.

MULTIPLE EFFECT

In a multiple effect evaporator, the vapor produced in an effect serves as heating medium for the next effect. Increasing the number of effect reduces the evaporator energy consumption.

STEAM THERMOCOMPRESSION

The thermocompressor is a static heat pump which recycles part of the vapor produced in the evaporator by mixing it with live steam (1 to 50 bar pressure). This device combined with those described above reduces energy requirements. In House multi nozzle thermocompressor designs outperform most of those available on the market in terms of efficiency for given pressure conditions and flexibility requirements.
